EAT PALM BEACH | WINE DIVE

The Wine Dive is a tapas bar, restaurant and generally good time located on Clematis in downtown West Palm Beach. They serve primarily American food with a blend of small plates and entrees and have a fantastic wine list. The atmosphere is lounge-y, like you’re visiting a friend in an upscale loft with exposed brick, tufted seating and sexy lighting. I’ve been for drinks and apps, dinner, a painting event with Uptown Art Uncorked but mainly for their infamous Sunday Brunch.

Sunday Brunch at Wine Dive is an event. While some may swing by for a Red Velvet Belgian Waffle and proceed with their weekend, most plan their day around their Wine Dive schedule.

For starters there are $10 Bottomless Mimosas, served in carafes and free-flowing until 3:00pm. There are also Bloody Marys if that’s your preferred breakfast beverage. Around Noon the music is cranked and Brunch has truly begun. It’s very “see and be seen” and often times “being seen” involves dancing on the bar at 2 in the afternoon.

This past week I went with the My Benedict, an english muffin topped with pulled short rib, poached egg, and a béarnaise sauce and served with Breakfast Potatoes. I love the breakfast potatoes which are home fries style. The eggs benedict was really good and I also like their traditional benedict. The hubs had the Breakfast Burrito, a flour tortilla filled with three scrambles eggs, texas potatoes, and bacon, ham or sausage served with a side of pico de gallo and sour cream. He gets it with the sausage as did another diner with us (he also steals half of my breakfast potatoes even though there are potatoes in his burrito). I usually go with the Snooty Plate, which is 2 eggs, ham, bacon or sausage and breakfast potatoes. It’s simple and delicious and I get my eggs scrambled with cheese – yum. They also have Chicken and Waffles, an array of Omelets, or Oatmeal if you’re feeling healthy.

While tables should be vacated for the line of waiting patrons, everyone is encouraged to stay and enjoy the festivities. And if you are in full Sunday Funday mode, you can take the party over to Roxy’s next door. My recommendation is to pace yourself and drink responsibly.

Wine Dive serves breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays (I recommend Saturday for a low key meal), lunch on the weekend and dinner nightly. They also host Ladies Night on Tuesdays, where ladies drink wine and champagne for free from 7pm-midnight. I love the atmosphere of Wine Dive, whether it’s bright and lively on a Sunday or dim and relaxed on a Wednesday.
